Jackie Bailey’s debut autofiction novel, The Eulogy, was recently released by Hardie Grant Books. Jackie is a professional researcher and independent funeral director living and working on Dharawal country in the Illawarra. Jackie has received numerous awards for her work and has a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of New South Wales. 

Jackie is also a recognised international expert on cultural diversity in the arts and has spearheaded work on justice, equity and inclusion. She often appears on arts industry panels and conferences, is a regular contributor to ArtsHub and is on the Board of the Merrigong Theatre Company.

Jackie is an ordained interfaith minister and trained deathwalker with a Masters of Theology from The New Seminary, the world’s oldest interfaith seminary. When she is not writing Jackie can be found bushwalking, hanging out with her husband and daughter, or helping families to navigate death and dying.
