WOW Australia invite you to submit an EOI to have your creative work included in our 2020 Creative Program.

WOW Australia is a three day festival that will take place predominantly at the Brisbane Powerhouse from the 3rd – 5th April 2020.  A WOW program consists of talks and conversations, WOW Bites, workshops, speed mentoring, marketplace, healing space and an exciting cultural program.

We are currently seeking proposals to be included in the cultural program.  This might include delivering a creative workshop, presenting a performance or proposing a visual arts exhibition, etc.  In considering your proposal, please consider the venue

We will be programming lunchtimes and evenings on the Turbine Platform, evenings in the Visy theatre, workshops in a range of spaces throughout the day program and visual arts in the public spaces across the venue (most suited to photography).  There could be an opportunity for projection on the outside of the building and the use of some of the more intimate spaces for workshops and other installation works.

In submitting your proposal, please consider the following curatorial principles:

·      Absolute inclusivity with both the speakers/artists and audience representing multiple lenses of identity

·      Representation of a wide range of ideas from a wide range of voices.

·      A balanced programme to achieve both lightheartedness and seriousness.

·      Embracing new ideas and voices with local and global interest.

·      Fearlessness in confronting difficult or little talked about subjects.

We welcome proposals that are presentation ready and also those in development.  WOW has secured funding for festivals in 2020, 2021 and 2022 and will consider a development period for presentation in 2021/22.

As the festival is a national / international event, we are especially interested in ideas which include partnerships with national and international artists; and have the potential for future touring.
