Join us for the inaugural WOW Cairns Festival Men's Breakfast, a thought-provoking and engaging event bringing together leaders from business, government and the community to explore the role men play in building stronger families, workplaces and communities. Hosted by Mandy Nolan and Councillor Trevor Tims, the breakfast will feature a dynamic panel conversation facilitated by Hayden Whitworth from The Be There Group, exploring themes of care, leadership, allyship and connection. This ticketed event offers an opportunity to reflect on how men can contribute positively to the wellbeing, prosperity and future of the region while strengthening relationships across generations and communities.

The Business of Care: What Modern Leadership, Community and Connection Ask of Men

At a time when communities are seeking new ways to strengthen connection, wellbeing and belonging, this panel explores the role of care in modern masculinity. From supporting families and raising children to creating inclusive workplaces, mentoring young people and contributing to community life, care is increasingly recognised as a vital leadership skill and social responsibility.

Drawing inspiration from the Queensland Child Protection Week theme "Protecting Children is Everybody's Business", the discussion will explore how men can positively influence the lives of others through empathy, presence, accountability and action. This conversation is about what men can contribute—highlighting practical examples of leadership, allyship and care that strengthen families, workplaces and communities, and help create a more connected future for everyone.

This event is presented with support from Centacare and the Be There Group
