Gavin Webber

Writer & Director, The Farm ‘This Ain’t No Pussy Show’  

Gavin started dancing late after many lost years spent hitch-hiking, skiing, writing, camping and studying. Eventually he decided to start making art instead and joined Meryl Tankard’s Australian Dance Theatre and following that Belgian company Ultima Vez. Throughout his career Gavin has worked between Australia and Europe and was Artistic Director of Dancenorth from 2005 to 2009. His present role is as co-Artistic Director of The Farm. He was awarded the Sidney Myer Individual Performing Arts Award in 2017, and with The Farm a Helpmann, a Drover’s Award and an Ausdance award. He also had a sandwich named after him in Lucia’s Cafe in Adelaide.                                           

Gavin has written text for a number of works over the past 15 years including Cockfight, Lawn, Food Chain & Remember Me as well as for Letzte Welten and You’re a Winner for Theatre Freiburg, Germany. Gavin completed a screenwriting course for AFTRS in 2020.
