Resilient Women

22-23 October 2021

The weekend of the 22 & 23 October 2021, saw a gathering of like minds for the inaugural Resilient Women festival on the Scenic Rim. Created from a partnership between the  Scenic Rim Regional Council and Making Good Alliance with support from WOW Australia, forward-thinking women gathered to share stories, listen to invigorating conversations, and partake in a variety of innovative workshops.

Resilient Women was a glorious fusion of conversations, creativity, workshops, performances and shopping, moving between the Vonda Youngman Community Centre and The Centre For Regenerative Arts Tamborine Mountain.

At the Friday night at the Resilient Women Arts Dinner we dove in to explore what it is to be a resilient woman, talking to to Mununjali/Wiradjuri artist Kim Walmsley, Erica Bartle from Outland Denim, Photographer and accidental adventurer Carin Garland and steel sculptor Colleen Lavender with a performance by Queensland Song of the year winner CLEA.

On Saturday the program continued from 9am to 9pm with talks, workshops, free activities for the body mind and soul, night markets and a local performance space.
