Tracey Harbour

Co-Owner, Jibija Ung-gwee Pty Ltd

Tracey Harbour (PhD) is a mother of five, wife, elder, public servant, artisan, and co-owner of the newly established Aboriginal company Jibija Ung-gwee Pty Ltd. Tracey grew up in Boulia and completed her secondary education in Mt Isa. Tracey went on to complete a Dip. in Early Childhood Education (1997), B. Ed (1990) and a master’s degree in education (hons) (1994) at James Cook University, Townsville. Tracey completed her PhD at Flinders University in South Australia in 2018. Tracey's experiences include working in the education and public service sector as an academic /educator/researcher/manager as well doing consultancy and volunteer work. Tracey's volunteer experiences have included working with women and children escaping domestic violence, young people living in the streets, and working with the homeless. Tracey has lived and worked in remote and rural communities as well as major cities and towns in Qld, NSW, Victoria, and NT. Tracey sits on various committees at state and national levels and is a voice and advocate for ATSI people and those living in the bush.
