Janine Hendry

Most recently Janine founded and organised the #March4Justice Campaign. This campaign saw her manage the organisation of 47 rallies across Australia bringing 110,000 women and their supporters out of their workplaces, their homes and their schools to protest against the Australian Government's woeful response to allegations of sexual assault within the Australian Parliament. Janine achieved this by amassing and managing a team of extraordinary volunteers who pulled off this feat over a period of 12 days.

When her life was struck by the tragedy of losing her 16-year-old son Bryn to suicide, she knew she would have to reach into the depths of her soul and to build on all that she had learned in life.

Janine put her academic career on hold and established Bryn’s School; this emerged out of her desire to build a school in memory of her son Bryn. Bryn’s School is now a Globally recognised charity that has built nine schools across the globe and educates around 3200 students daily.

For a brief while, she ran her own Interiors Consultancy, focussing on the link between the spaces that we inhabit and wellbeing. In doing so Janine saw many of the creatives that she worked with had brilliant creative skills, but they lacked the understanding of running a business, and thus she saw a new opportunity. Janine took this knowledge to develop the Guild of Objects, which runs workshops and programs for artists and creatives, art and inspiration tours and mentoring for creatives, as well as providing studio space for artists to exhibit and sell their work.
