Courtney Fewquandie

Butchulla & Gubbi Gubbi Woman, Equality Advocate, General Manager

Courtney is a proud Butchulla and Gubbi Gubbi woman from the Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast region in Queensland. Courtney has been involved in many community engagement roles in sport as is currently the General Manager of First Nations Football at Football Australia with previous work with Queer Sporting Alliance and Cricket Australia. Her work and advocacy for marginalised groups in community sport also earned her a nomination as Out Role Model of the Year at the 2021 Australian Pride in Sport Awards and winner of Changemaker of the year for the ‘Out for Australia’ 30 under 30 awards in 2020. Also in 2020- Courtney produced an extensive, high-level body of work covering diverse sports and voices for publication on Siren sport. Courtneys passion and expertise lay in diversity, equity, and social justice. Graduating recently in May 2023, Courtney is also a part of the inaugural cohort to be awarded a Master of Indigenous Business Leadership at Monash University. Courtney was also recently awarded a panel position with Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) which had her lead an all-women First Nations and Māori Cultural Advisory Panel for the upcoming Football World Cup in 2023.
